Join me for this Prenatal yoga series to learn how yoga can support you during pregnancy and birth.
During this 3 week series, you will learn how to connect to your pelvic floor, postures (asana) to strengthen the body, and practice gentle stretching and relaxation.
The series is focused on a yoga practice that will support you during this special time full of change. Each class will combine a slow-moving yoga flow with a specific topic of the week.
The series is divided into 3 parts:
Connecting to the pelvic floor The first part of the series is focused on connecting to your pelvic floor. Discover how and why you’ll want to pay extra attention to your pelvic floor in pregnancy and as you prepare for birth.
Building strength The second part of the series covers postures that help build strength and resilience in the whole body but particularly in the core, legs, and arms.
Gentle stretching and relaxation Learn the essentials of stretching during pregnancy and the postures that assist in opening the chest, shoulders and hips. We finish the series with a few restorative postures especially beneficial in pregnancy.
Women in all stages of pregnancy are welcomed. I look forward to meeting you on the mat!
Yin and Restorative Yoga Workshop
WHEN: SUNDAY 3/18 2-4PM
WHERE: YOGA MAYU 4159B 24th Street, SF, CA 94114
COST: $30
Welcome to a workshop dedicated to rest and relaxation. In this workshop, we will begin with a full body yin yoga practice. In yin, we hold poses for 3-5 minutes to encourage a gentle opening of the body to release physical tension and to calm the mind. This slow meditative practice will prepare you to sink into deeper rest.
The second part of the workshop is dedicated to Restorative Yoga. Each pose is held for 15-20 minutes and is supported by all the necessary blankets, bolsters, and blocks. Restorative yoga is about doing less, less achievement and less movement. This practice will help to soothe your nervous system and release deeply held physical and emotional tension. We work towards a quieting of the mind.
By combining yin and restorative yoga we progressively move into a deeply relaxing and restorative afternoon. A perfect opportunity for a nourishing rest in order to start your week ahead feeling revitalized and refreshed.
For this workshop, I recommend bringing socks, a sweater and your own eye mask.
